About these rankings
Most "best AI course" lists are written once and left to age, while AI courses go stale in months. These rankings are recalculated every week from public learner data on each platform, so a course that stops being updated or loses its audience slides down, and a strong new course can climb fast.
Each list ranks the 10 highest-scoring courses we track for that topic. Every entry shows its score out of 100, the breakdown behind it and a short verdict on the syllabus. Start with AI for beginners if you are new, or jump to agentic AI or AI engineering if you build software.
Questions
How often do the rankings change?
Every week. Each Saturday we refresh ratings, rating counts and update dates from Udemy, Coursera and DataCamp, recalculate every score and publish the new order. Arrows show how far each course moved since the previous week.
What is the AETW score?
A number out of 100 that combines the learner rating (30%), popularity (20%), momentum over the last week (20%), how recently the course was updated (15%) and our syllabus review (15%). The methodology page lists the exact formula.
Do affiliate commissions affect the rankings?
No. We earn a commission on many Udemy, Coursera and DataCamp courses, and we choose which courses to track, but commission is not an input to the score. A course with no affiliate link can outrank one that pays us.
Did you take every course?
No. The scores are built from public learner data, and the curriculum verdicts come from reading each course's published syllabus and materials. We say so on every list rather than claim hands-on testing we didn't do.
Which AI course should I start with?
If you have never used AI tools at work, start with the top of the AI for beginners list. If you write code, the AI engineering and agentic AI lists are the better start, and the Claude Code list covers AI-assisted coding.
